Jacob Fossum is an artist, teacher and musician whose work deals primarily with
the uniqueness of personal experience and what is lost in translation.
hello.
Here's a little information about me just in case you are curious:
I grew up as number six of seven children in New Jersey and Georgia. After High School I left the south and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina for a couple of years where I worked as a Mormon Missionary.
I began my college career soon thereafter and received my BFA from Utah State University and my MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. I have lived all over this amazing country and have developed a great fondness for it. My work can't help but reflect the curiosity that is fueled by my nomadic living.
I love to teach and create and understand my personal myth through art and music. Both are meant to be humorous and tragic. I have to be able to laugh and cry with myself. I can only be responsible for understanding myself and hopefully through that I will come to understand others. It seems to be working so far.
