Jacob paints portraits in oil, either from your photographs or from a photo session in his studio. Portraits from photographs can be commissioned from anywhere, and the finished painting ships wherever you are. See examples of Jacob's portraits.

Send a few high-quality photos taken in good natural light or book a photo session with Jacob at his studio.

Jacob talks with you about the setting: a background that means something, like a favorite landscape, a color, an interior or a symbolic detail, or a quieter field that keeps the focus on the sitter.

Jacob sends a short agreement with the size, price and estimated completion date. A 50% deposit reserves a place in his schedule.

Most portraits take about two to three months, depending on size and his schedule. When it's finished, you'll see it in person or by photo, and one round of minor adjustments is included. The balance is due before shipping or pickup.
